Kralendijk climate - a reason to plan your trip now
Anyone that enjoys sunny and warm or hot days must be a huge fan of the Caribbean area. Set in a tropical climate, the Caribbean offers one of the most equilibrated temperatures all year round, with degrees having little fluctuation, regardless of the month. For example, if you will get average temperatures of 84F or 29C degrees during January, July or August will only vary with a couple of degrees, averages being around 89F and 32C. The Bonaire weather makes no exception from the rule as it boasts dream weather conditions for a tropical vacation, regardless of the time of the year. Basically, whereas at home you might be freezing your fingers off in January and sweating like a sprinkler during June, you won't be able to tell the difference between January and June on Bonaire. Another great advantage of the Bonaire weather is the relative lack of rainfall. This is obviously good for tourists, as you won't be able to cancel or postpone a scuba diving, snorkeling or windsurfing session due to an unexpected storm. Sure, storms occur every now and then on Bonaire, but due to the island's geographical position and lack of any "storm attractors" such as forests or mountains, they tend to be very scarce. Besides being able to do what you want, whenever you want, the lack of rainfall has other benefits. There's little rainfall over the surrounding Bonaire waters as well, which means that the shoreline is extremely calm. This provides excellent snorkeling opportunities and due to the fact that the water is crystal clear, you'll even be able to watch the maritime wonders of Bonaire with the naked eye, on a calm day. This "calmness" is mostly visible in the leeside of the island, which makes this part less enjoyable for windsurfers. You'll find most of the windsurfers on the windward side of the island, where a constant trade wind from the East makes the water a bit rougher. The general heat, lack of storms and calm waters make the Bonaire reef ring one of the most flourishing ones in the Caribbean and the entire World! Being extremely sensitive, reef can easily degrade when exposed to rough waters or heavy rainfall and thankfully, that is not the case with Bonaire. So you'll be able to find some of the beautiful reef around the western side of the island (which is less prone to shaky waters and heavy winds), especially around Klein Bonaire, the small uninhabited island inside Bonaire's "boomerang".
